Why GIM?

What are benefits of experiencing GIM as an individual?

GIM – Guided Imagery and music is a music-oriented exploration of consciousness, which is used primarily in psychotherapy and counselling settings.

GIM assists in stress reduction, it facilitates a feeling of well-being in a holistic way

GIM is particularly effective in the healing of grief, loss, depression and anxiety

GIM stimulates physical pain relief  and healing of physical symptoms

GIM brings about self-awareness and deep transformation.

GIM brings about personal growth

A person who undergoes the GIM process, has the opportunity to integrate all of his/her mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of well-being. In addition to the feeling of wholeness as a human being, he/she is often awakened to a transcendent identification with the Greater Whole. Persons who experience GIM go through profound changes and, as a result of one or more sessions, make choices that lead to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

What are the possible outcomes of a GIM session?

GIM has been successfully used with adults,adolescents, children, persons in recovery, psychiatric in-patients, terminally ill patients and others for many years. It is applied as a problem-solving therapy for a wide range of personal themes. GIM gets to the core of the issue at hand, and leads to healing of the body, mind and soul.

It has been found especially effective for persons seeking help with:

  • Relationship, family and divorce related issues;
  • career changes and stages of transition in life (e.g. menopause, mid-life crisis)
  • physical health issues (e.g. migraine, indigestion)
  • stress and burnout situations;
  • trauma and sexual abuse, abandonment and neglect;
  • creativity blocks and negative thinking;
  • post-natal depression; depression and suicidal thoughts
  • addictions and eating disorders
  • old and burdening memories that need to be resolved.

GIM is uncovers and leads to the healing of strong emotions. This however, is an important reason why the GIM work is not recommended in cases of very serious mental disorders.
