What is Guided Imagery and Music (GIM)?

Guided Imagery and Music (GIM) is a music-centered, psycho-therapeutic healing modality.

A individual GIM session has a clear focus and intention, which is established in a pre-talk between the client and the GIM fellow. A specifically designed GIM music program is then played to a client who is in a relaxed, receptive state. The process is guided by a trained GIM fellow who works with the music, in order to effect and support change. The client will communicate images, experiences and emotions, triggered by the music. The language of images is universal and says more than a thousand words. The music is a strong catalyst for change, and has the capacity to nurture, hold, challenge or transform.

Art, as well as symbolic process work are used to complete the healing process.

GIM facilitates stress reduction, physical pain release as well as deep emotional healing.

This results in personal growth, transformation and spiritual healing.

GIM can be experienced individually or in groups.

In an individual healing process the number of GIM sessions needed, depend on the clients unique circumstances and needs. An average of 4 -6 sessions are the norm. One may however already experience the shifts needed after just 1 GIM session.

GIM group work varies greatly in its approach. Once off groups as well as ongoing groups, can use the GIM approach. Groups can work with specific issues, follow a theme or have a very meaningful once off journey together.
